'The Freshwater Food Chain Is Vicious In Texas'

'Not bad for a weekday. We started in the lake then made our way to the river working our way up the vicious Texas freshwater food chain until we were face to face with a living dinosaur. 7 foot 2 inches of prehistoric Texan alligator gar making that the third gar over 100 pounds for the year. I have a goal of tagging and releasing 30 alligator gar over 100# for 2017. I am not in any competition with anyone but i will be fishing hard this year. We fished through cold water temps and rising water levels but read the river just right to put us in a collision course with North America\'s largest predatory fish. Each and every encounter with 7+ foot gar is...well there really aren\'t words for it honestly. Thank you big gar i wish you many more years in your river.
