TERRACOTTA WARRIORS EXCAVATION SITE This is where Emperor Qin Shi Huang built an army of Terracotta Warriors so that after his death they would guard him in his afterlife. He employed over 700,000 workers who worked on the sight for 38 years. This site was not discovered until 1974, when some farmers were digging for a well discovered a Terracotta Warrior in the ground. So far 6,000 Terracotta Warrior figurines have been dug up. These warrior figures are over 2,000 years old. Some require hundreds of pieces to be reconstructed. This video focuses on pit number 1 of 3 pits. This is the largest and most impressive of the 3 pits. These 3 pits are enclosed in buildings where the temperature is controlled. Also located in each building are exhibits, film rooms and background history. It was truly an impressive place to visit.'
