'#nigellalawson #devilsfoodcake #lucyblazebright Hey everyone, Nigella Lawson exudes grace, poise and femininity, and her Devil\'s Food Cake recipe is no exception! I decided I wanted to challenge myself as I\'ve never made a cake that wasn\'t already pre-mixed in a packet. It was definitely a glorious mess but one I am so happy with. Though, if you are like me and don\'t have all the utensils, I would suggest at least making sure your cake tins are the same size (lol I had a bit of an overhang). It was also over 35 degrees in Brisbane that day so the frosting wasn\'t all that frosty but after being in the fridge for an hour, the cake was perfect to eat. It has the bitter taste of dark chocolate with the sweetness of the cake layers (though I think I would like more than two layers as there was a lot of frosting to use!). I hope you give it a go. And special thanks to Nigella who is the Queen of the Kitchen! You can watch her making this at: https://www.nigella.com/recipes/devil-s-food-cake Cheers, Lucy Ingredients: Cake: - 50g cocoa powder - 100g dark brown sugar (she mentions Muscovado sugar) - 250ml boiling water - 225g plain flour - 1/2 tsp baking powder - 1/2 tsp bi-carb soda - 125g unsalted butter - 150g caster sugar - 2 tsps of vanilla extract - 2 eggs Frosting: - 125ml water - 30g dark brown sugar (Muscovado) - 175g unsalted cubed butter - 300g finely chopped dark chocolate Music from YouTube Studio: Fractal of Light - Chris Haugen'See also:
