'Using Polystyrene Cups to make Food Chains : Idea for Teachers'

01:43 Apr 20, 2021
'Here\'s a quick idea for teaching food chains with stackable cups. All you need to do is stick or draw images of animals and plants onto stackable cups, and write the name around the edge. The children can then stack them to show the food chain building up. In this example I\'ve used polystyrene cups because they have a nice big lip so you can see the words when they are stacked, but I know they\'re not very environmentally-friendly! Paper cups could also be used, but try and get ones that don\'t stack too tightly. I\'m still trying to find eco-friendly cups with a nice lip to them that work as well as the polystyrene ones. But at least these cups are getting reused and not going into landfill! https://www.sciencefix.co.uk/2020/10/quick-science-idea-make-food-chains-with-stackable-cups/'
