'Hey guys, welcome back to the LaceUp With Mickey podcast, Episode 8. Today, I\'m joined by my good friend and business associate, Mr. Aston Lue - Founder of Ocho Rios. Launched in 1987, Aston and his wife Michelle got into the food business, as he says, “by accident!” At the time, Aston was working as a salesman for another distribution company. Very quickly, he began to notice that the flavor profiles associated with South American and Islander consumers weren’t being properly represented in storefronts. Wanting to bring these unique and exotic flavors of Spanish & Jamaican culture to the marketplace, Aston and Michelle set out on a journey to start their own business. Fast-forward 32 years, the name “Ocho Rios” has become a recognizable household name known for its wide array of flavorful and convenient food products. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, Aston walks me through the unique growth history of his multi-million dollar company, how he was able to build it out from one product to the multi-product lines you see before us, and what plans he has coming up next for the business. ____________________________________________________________
